Brian Tarr was the Conference Chairman and Manager of the Clivia Conference held in Petermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal Saturday 7 th September 2002. Brian is the curator of the Natal National Botanical Gardens in Natal. Brian grows Clivias, sees to the Clivias at Natal Botanical Gardens. The Bot.Soc. at congreswon the Gold medallion for "most points on show". The society also provides seed annually. He wrote an interesting article in Yearbook 2, "The Great Yellow Clivia Jigsaw Puzzle" and numerous other articles Clivia related.
