HERBERTIA (issn: 8756-9418), the Journal of the International Bulb Society, is devoted to the botany and horticulture of geophytic/bulbous plants. Special emphases of the Journal are the Amaryllidaceae, Iridaceae, Liliaceae and other petalloid monocot families rich in bulbous, cormous, rhizomatous or tuberous plants , but articles on any aspects of dicotyledonous geophytes are also welcomed.
BULBS , our Newsletter, has timely growing tips and informative articles of seasonal interest. It is published two to three times per year, in spring and autumn.
SEED EXCHANGE: additional membership benefits include participation in our plant/seed swap column and in our members-only seed exchange, which provided an opportunity to obtain seed of many beautiful, rare and difficult-to-obtain species. Each seed list usually has several hundred offerings of seeds not available through other sources. Seeds are offered at a nominal charge. You can also order back issues of our Society's journals.
IBS E-Mail Bulb Forum: The International Bulb Society is linking to cyberspace via personal computer e-mail. An E-Mail Bulb Forum has been started for those wanting quicker communication than the traditional "snail mail" letter robin. No more waiting! You may connect anytime to robin members anywhere in the country or to the other side of the world through the E-Mail Bulb Forum. This robin flies not from mail box to mail box but through cyberspace whenever the urge and time is right for you. The modern e-mail bulb robin is a discussion group. We do this by having a prepared mailing list containing the e-mail addresses for all the Bulb Robin participants. Any responses we make to the Bulb Forum are simply addressed to this distribution list. In this way, we can be in touch with each other on a weekly basis or a daily basis.
