2001 Daylily Introductions

Tetraploids

BAROQUE BROCADE (Jim Shields, 2001), seedling #824T01. Tet, ht. 24 in., flwr. 5.5 in. (4.5 in. recurved) X 2.8 X 1.9 in. M, SE. A lush, ruffled pink with richly textured petals and a yellow-green throat. Fertile both ways. It has 15 to 20 buds one a scape with one branch. Parentage is {[(Sdlg #311t06 X Sdlg #363t07) x BAROQUE PRINCESS] X SILKEN TOUCH (Pat Stamile)}.

WESTFIELD FRIENDLY PERSUASION (Jim Shields, 2001), seedling #589T01, tet, ht. 31 inches, flower 6.25 in. X 2.5 X 1.8 , M, SE. 20 - 30 buds, two - three branches on many scapes. Large lavender pink bloom with open yellow throat and faint blush halo. Slightly gold-dusted throughout with a fine gold thread along the outer tips of petals. Parentage is [(WESTFIELD WINE x Sdlg #322t12) X BAROQUE PRINCESS].

WESTFIELD NEW DAY (Jim Shields, 2001), seedling #608T06, tet, ht. 27 inches, flower 6 in. X 2.25 X 1.5 , M, SE. 21 buds, two - three branches on many scapes. This New Day dawns from a yellow throat through pale pink to darker pink petals edged in gold which also dusts the sepals. Parentage is [GENTLE ROSE (Stamile) X BAROQUE COURTESAN]

Diploids

JUST DUCKY (Andrea Strother, 2001), seedling #704D05 Dip, Ht. 20 in., flwr. 4 in. X 1.75 X 1.25 inches, M, SE. Bud count of 14 but produces lots of scapes. Rich pink with a red eye over a yellow throat and a deep green heart. A sibling to TANZANITE TRINKET (Andrea Strother, 1999). Parentage = [SILOAM MERLE KENT X (ROSE RUFFLING x SIBELIUS)].

PRELUDE TO AUTUMN (Jim Shields, 2001), seedling #849D07. Dip, Ht 30 in., flwr. 3.5 in. X 2 X 1.5 in., ML, SE. 12 to 22 buds. Delicate round bloom is a warm rosy pink with soft ruffles around the petals. Parentage is [LADY AYLENE (Elliott) x WALTER JABLONSKI MEMORIAL (Jablonski-Sharp)].

HOOSIER AUTUMN DAY (Jim Shields, 2001), seedling #672D01. Dip, Ht 31 in., flwr. 5 in. X 2.25 X 1.5 in., ML, D. 12 buds. Burnt red-orange petals and sepals that have been shot with yellow. Parentage is {PINK PANOPLY (Bryant Millikan) X [WIDE FANTASY (Powell) x JOHNNY COME LATELY (Wilmer Flory)] }
